LOC FEST NYC 2024

Loc Fest is a cultural festival whose purpose is to celebrate and unite the entire Loc'd community. Loc Fest unites various sectors of our community by promoting local creatives, increases awareness about the culture of the Loc'd community and educates the wider community on the history, way of life and contributions of the Loc’d community to the eclectic society. The event focuses on long-term objectives including countering discrimination and stereotypes associated with black hair, primarily Loc’d aka "Dreadlock" hair. It also helps the children of the movement to understand what Loc Fest is truly about: which is to embrace one’s hair in its natural state; along with self-love, self-care, sustainable living, celebrating one’s community and culture.
